Model Town Lahore: All time favorite of traditional elites

Lahore is the largest city of province Punjab and it is considered as the most important city for the Pakistanis in cultural heritage. The city is considered as the religious core of the country. It has grasped its significance because it was a part of Mughal throne in the past. Afterwards, the city went through different development stages, which have changed the entire outlook of this historic city. The hand made balcony designs and large windy verandas were merged into the new home designs in the Model town Lahore. In this residential society the traditional touch can be very prominently seen by the observers. The society was constructed before the partition of the sub-continent, due to which we are able to see marvelous properties, constructed on Indian, British, Mughal or mixed designs.  

Model Town is one of the suburbs of Lahore and it is situated near Faisal Town and Township Lahore. The society was established in 1932 and it was the completion of Dewan Khem Chand’s lifelong dream to see the establishment of a “Garden Town”. After the partition of the subcontinent, the administration of model town Lahore was transferred under the supervision of Mr. Riaz-ud-Din Ahmad, agent to the custodian for Model Town Lahore. The society change different hands and was modified by all and now it has been transformed into its current look.

The society contains wide roads and a green environment to live which provides a healthy hygienic atmosphere to live. The front of the society touches the main Ferozepur road which connects the society with the whole city.  The society contains large markets like Bank Square in D-block, C-block market and link road which is in access to every one living in this society. There is a common park named as Model Town Park which is the favorite place for the families as a picnic spot and it contains a 2.5 kilometers jogging track. The society carries every necessity of life and it is still the most favorite place to live for the traditional elites of the city.
